Good nutrition is fuel for your body. Setting a goal to have a healthy lifestyle but then exercising without paying attention to your diet is like signing up to run a marathon and stopping half way. You will never reach your fitness goals unless you take your nutrition into consideration—run that whole marathon and feel great when you pass the finish line!  

At 180° Fitness we steer clear from "quick fix" gimmicks and believe that exercise in combination with a balanced diet is the key to lasting health. All of your energy is ultimately derived from the food you eat; some foods are exceptionally good at boosting energy levels and fuelling your body, while other things we consume cause us to drag our heels. With so many food choices it can be overwhelming and confusing to get your eating habits on the right track. That is why 180° Fitness employs a registered dietitian and a nutritionist to help take your nutrition by the reins and develop meal plans that work for you.  

The expression "you are what you eat" is increasingly shown to be true. Every cell in your body expends energy and the only source for that energy is the food you eat. Nutrition consultations with our registered dietitian are conducted on a one-on-one basis and will help educate you on wholesome, nutritious food. Whether you want to improve your existing health, lose weight, manage food allergies, are a vegetarian and want to make sure you are getting essential nutrients, or you simply want to learn to eat healthier, our registered dietitian will asses your current eating patterns and guide you on ways to improve your diet.    

As part of the health services we offer at 180° Fitness, our registered dietitian organizes monthly grocery shopping tours to help members understand food labels and discuss healthier options within each food category. There is no other service like this offered in Orleans and everyone who signs up can benefit: anyone learning to prepare their own meals, people on a financial budget, new parents learning to prepare meals and snacks for children, or college students who are just starting out on their own, bring your questions and hopefully our grocery tour will clear up any misconceptions you may have about different food products.
