Tabata intervals last 20 seconds followed by 10 seconds of rest repeated 8 times. Get ready to burn away those pounds faster than a regular workout ever could!

Tabata Training 

Short-term intense interval training is a great way to burn fat without compromising muscle mass. Tabata training consists of six to seven 20-second maximum energy output exercises interspersed with rest periods of 10 seconds. Each drill only lasts 4 minutes, but don't be fooled by the short duration, it is a grueling 4 minutes! This interval routine produces remarkable fat burning effects that continue post workout; your body's metabolic rate remains increased even after your exercise session is complete.

What is really appealing about this type of training is the flexibility you have to vary your workout, as long as you commit maximum effort during the 20-second power drills then every 4 minutes your body can challenge a new muscle group. We'll have you sprinting against the resistance of bungee cords, jump squatting while holding on to bandit loops, hammering large rubber tires, lunging, lifting, pushing, and definitely sweating! How do we know Tabata Training is effective? Named after its creator, Dr. Izumi Tabata who studied the Japanese speed-skating team's workout to quantify its effectiveness, Tabata's study found that a work rest ratio of 2:1, resting half as long as you are working, improves the body's ability to take oxygen from the blood and use it for oxidative energy production; improving both anaerobic and aerobic capacity. Basically, we are going to get your lungs pumping like a locomotive engine and whether your fitness goal is to burn fat, improve your cardiovascular system, or build muscle, this workout is the package deal! Tabata training will teach you the mental focus you need to push past pain and reach your athletic goals.
